OUAGADOUGOU, Burkina Faso (AP) — Burkina Faso and French forces killed four extremists Saturday and freed more than 126 people to end the seizure of a luxury hotel by al-Qaida-linked militants, Burkina Faso officials said. In addition to the four jihadists, at least 23 people were killed in the attack at the Splendid Hotel and a nearby cafe in Ouagadougou, the capital, the president said. Three attackers were killed at the hotel and a fourth was killed when security forces cleared out a second hotel nearby.

Cristiano Ronaldo gives young disabled fan something to be happy about
Cristiano Ronaldo made a young fan's day when he posed for a picture
with him and signed his shirt. Ronaldo and his team mates were on their
way to a game and as is customary, fans and the press waited by the team
bus to catch a glimpse of their stars. One lucky fan who was in a wheel
chair caught Ronaldo's eye and he broke from the team to specially
acknowledge the kid amidst cheers. Other lucky fans had their shirt

How Obasanjo escaped unhurt in tyre accident
Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo escaped unhurt after his vehicle had a burst tyre on Saturday, on Lagos-Ibadan expressway. Obasanjo was returning from a church programme organised for the 10th
year remembrance of his late wife, Stella Obasanjo, when the minor
incident occurred.
While on his way to the airport, one of the rear tyres of Obasanjo’s Luxus SUV burst along the road.
Although it can’t be immediately ascertained if anyone was hurt from
the tyre incident, Obasanjo has however, travelled out of the country.
Meanwhile, the Federal Road Safety Corps, has downplayed the severity
of the incident, stressing that it was a mere ‘tyre problem’. The FRSC put out a statement to this effect on its Facebook page.
It said: “Contrary to reports in the social media platforms that
former President Olusegun Obasanjo had a serious crash on the
Lagos-Ibadan expressway today, the vehicle in which the former president
was traveling only had tyre problem.”
“President Olusegun Obasanjo moved into the backup vehicle and
continued his journey while the blow out tyre was changed and left the
scene.”
