New-Iphone-7-Concept-Gives-Apple's-Next-Flagship-A-Stunning-Redesign

Whether or not Apple launches a new phone this spring, we’re almost certainly going to have to wait until September before the true sequel to the iPhone 6s makes it to store shelves. For iPhone users who weren’t able or willing to upgrade to the most recent version of the phone, the wait can be excruciating. But in the meantime, at least we have concept art.

Police: Running car kept baby alive after mom died

Police in Dayton, Ohio, said a running car heater helped keep a 6-month-old alive as her mother sat dead in the front seat.

Investigators don't know how long Brittany Russell and her daughter, Haven Edwards, were in the car in the lot of Twin Manor Apartments before the property manager found Russell slumped over the steering wheel around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Police said she was shot in the head and the baby was unharmed.

"Thank goodness the car was left running with the heater on," said Lt. Andrew Booher, commander of Dayton Police Homicide Unit. "I think that had a huge impact on ensuring the baby survived."

Dayton and Middletown police are working together to establish Russell's history and a timeline of the events leading up to her death. The 29-year-old has no history in Dayton, and investigators are working to determine why she traveled to the city. Both agencies are interviewing people close to Russell to assist in the investigation, which is being lead by Dayton police.

The timeline begins around 12 p.m. Tuesday, when Russell persuaded a babysitter to let Haven leave with her, even though she is not the custodial parent. Chris Edwards, the father, told Middletown police he did not give Russell permission to leave with the baby.

When Edwards called Russell, she told him she would return by 7 p.m. but she didn't show, according to a release from Middletown Police. When he called again, Russell told him she would return later that night.

Edwards reported Haven missing around 5 a.m. to Middletown police. Dayton Police found the infant and her mother's body around 9:30 a.m.

Edwards initially told police this wasn't Russell's typical behavior and he was worried about her safety. Russell had a drug history he told police, according to the news release. Booher said police were told Russell had been clean for a while. No drugs were found in the car with her.

Boy Who Fought Cancer and Found the Love of His Life at Age 8 Has Died

8-Year-Old Boy Who Found 'True Love' While Facing Terminal Cancer Dies 'Surrounded by Love,' His Mom Says
8-Year-Old Boy Who Found 'True Love' While Facing Terminal Cancer Dies 'Surrounded by Love,' His Mom Says. David Spisak, an 8-year-old boy who found his 'true love' while contending with terminal cancer, has died.

"Our little man's last moments were laying with his mommy and daddy in the middle of the night, with a house full of family, friends and loved ones after days of being surrounded by love," his mom, Amber Spisak, wrote in a Facebook group where she chronicled the young boy's cancer battle.

"This day was supposed to come about 9-10 months ago, but David just wasn't done living yet, so he made his own timeline and defied the rules," the post continued. "The almost 7 years of cancer were so very hard, but nothing like the last few days."

Amber wrote that the last clear thing the family heard the young boy from Chesapeake, Virginia say was. "David wants to be a hero."

"I'm not ready to say things happen for a reason or a message of rainbows and sunshine just yet, but our baby boy was a fighter, a beautiful soul, a force to be reckoned with and of all the things, he is most definitely a hero," she continued.

David was diagnosed with leukemia at age two. After undergoing extensive chemotherapy and receiving two transplants, David beat cancer three times. Then, in March, his cancer returned. Facing this fourth diagnosis, David's parents made the decision to stop David's treatments and allow him to live a normal life away from hospitals and painful procedures.

Doctors predicted that without treatment, David would only live for four to six weeks, but months passed, and David began to look better. When he returned to school to start second grade in September, he met a girl who captured his heart.

He told his parents he had a "crush" on 7-year-old Ayla Andrews, a girl from art class.

"In art class, I told her I liked her and she just had a surprised face so we started dating," David told WTKR in November.

When David became too sick to attend school, Amber found notes from Ayla saying that she loved and missed him. So she reached out to Ayla's mom to plan a date to lift her son's spirits.

David brought Ayla a teddy bear and roses, and she pushed him around in his wheelchair, helped him bowl and shared pizza with him.

"She's definitely had an impact on his spirit, and I haven't seen this side of him in a long time," Amber told WTKR.

She added, "The best part was watching the way they just needed to be close to each other and their conversation never got shy or quiet. That was all they needed to be happy."

At the end of the date, David stood up from his wheelchair and walked for the first time in a month.

"He was just so determined for her, he really pushed himself for her," Amber told ABC News. "Once we realized that this wasn't the typical elementary school crush, once we saw this heartfelt connection that they have, we were so happy that she came into his life and that he came to her life for some reason."

Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States, held the office from March 1861 until April 1865. John Wilkes Booth assassinated President Lincoln on April 14, 1865, at Ford’s Theatre in Washington, D.C.

Lincoln was born Feb. 12, 1809, in Kentucky; his family moved to Indiana in 1816, then to Illinois in 1830. Lincoln was elected to the Illinois State Legislature in 1834. He was against slavery. Lincoln was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1846; he didn’t seek reelection at the end of his term. He joined the Republican Party, formed mainly in opposition to slavery that was extending through the Kansas-Nebraska Act of 1854. This act allowed voters to decide whether their territory could have slaves or be free. Lincoln fought the Kansas-Nebraska Act in debates.

In May 1860, the Republicans chose Lincoln as their presidential candidate. He won the election and began serving in March 1861. The Confederacy, formed by seven Southern slave states before Lincoln took office, seceded from the Union. He was the president of the United States through the Civil War, which started in April 1861. On Jan 1, 1863, during the Civil War, he issued the Emancipation Proclamation, which stated that all individuals who were held as slaves “henceforward shall be free.”

Lincoln was reelected in 1865, and on April 9, 1865, the confederacy’s commander of the Army of Virginia, Gen. Robert E. Lee, surrendered to the Union general, Ulysses S. Grant, and the civil war was over. Lincoln was able to end slavery. John Wilkes Booth fatally shot Lincoln on April 14, 1865, at Ford’s Theater in Washington, D.C., and he died the following morning. Flying manhole cover kills driver in Boston

BOSTON -- Massachusetts State Police say a manhole cover crashed through a windshield on a major Boston highway during the morning commute Friday, killing a driver. Authorities say the metal manhole cover became "dislodged and airborne" before it slammed into a car in one of the southbound lanes just before 8 a.m., CBS Boston reports.

The driver was an adult woman, but authorities were not releasing further details about her identity pending proper notification of next-of-kin, State Police spokesman Dave Procopio said in statement reported by the station.

He said the manhole cover came loose at about 7:50 a.m. and that the vehicle it hit continued forward before striking a wall on the left shoulder of the highway and coming to a stop.

It's unclear what caused the manhole cover, normally situated in the left southbound lane near the exit of the O'Neill Tunnel on I-93 South, to become dislodged. That is part of an ongoing investigation, Procopio said.

Two lanes of the highway were shut down while the investigation was underway Friday.

Arms Deal: EFCC Apprehends Amosu’s Wife, Recovers $1M In Soakaway Pit

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)

Mrs. Lara Amosu, wife of the former Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Adesola Amosu (rtd), has been apprehended by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with respect to the ongoing investigation into the $2.1 billion arms procurement fund.

former Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Adesola Amosu

Lara’s arrest came fortnight after her husband was whisked away by the anti-graft agency over his involvement in the diversion of funds meant for the purchase of arms. It was believed that she was arrested after the sum of N3 billion was traced to her bank accounts – money believed to be part of the sum her husband is being probed for.

It was learnt that her lawyer has been battling without success to get her released. New Telegraph reports that other properties traced to the former CAS were also being held by his wife and children.

A reliable source reported that the EFCC discovered N17.5 billion in the accounts of wives of three airforce chiefs. The monies were scattered in various banks accounts.
“Shortly after Amosu was picked up in Abuja, his wife, Lara, was subsequently arrested. Investigations conducted showed that some of the monies the former Chief of Air Staff made through some contracts and procurements in NAF were traced to his wife’s accounts.
“About N3 billion was traced to the wife’s accounts while some assets acquired by the former service chief was in her name and some others in her company’s name.
“So, Lara is an accessory to a crime. The proceeds with her are from the arms funds. As we prosecute her husband, she must also be held accountable,” the source said.
It was gathered that the EFCC retrieved $1 million cash from Amosu’s residence in Badagary, Lagos. The money, in foreign currency, was retrieved when EFCC operatives carried out a search on Amosu’s residence in Badagry.
The source said: “In continuation of the investigation into the arms probe, the EFCC operatives took Amosu to his residence in Badagry. After a thorough search of the residence, a fresh small ‘soakaway’ pit was discovered in the compound. The operatives suspected foul play, which informed the breaking of the ‘soakaway’. Surprisingly, $1 million was found in it. The money was subsequently confiscated.”

PHOTO: Father let's his kids play with huge 19ft pet python

Eric LeBlanc, 43, loves reptiles so much he lives with hundreds of snakes and lizards. A fire at his reptile store killed some of his animals so he moved the rest into his home where they frolic with his kids. Despite the danger the animals could pose he has no problem allowing his three children Erica, three, Larry, four, and Katie, seven, to handle them.

“The worst bite my daughter got was from a bearded dragon,” said Eric.

“My son got bit in the forehead one time by a ball python when he was around two-years-old.

“He opened one of the tubs after me and basically startled it – the python jumped up and bit him on the nose.”

His store is undergoing repairs and while the reptiles live the family, he is trying to raise his children to have no fear of them.

He said: “They make great pets. They don’t have fleas and are low maintenance so you don’t have to take them to a vet regularly like a dog or a cat.

“I have Shelby a seven-year-old albino lavender reticulated python – these are some of the biggest snakes in the world.

“Obviously the bigger the snake the bigger the teeth, so it’s dangerous – but Shelby is very placid. She is over 19ft long and believe me I know what she is capable of.

“When you hold her you can feel her moving you – she is like one big muscle.

“When she is playing with the kids she really pulls them.

“They can really feel the strength of her – you’ve got to have total respect for these animals and that’s what I have.”

He doesn't seem to be putting his children in danger however as he insists they are safe and won't leave them without supervision. He said: “In this country everybody has an opinion.

“Some people think it’s safe for kids to shoot guns.

“I won’t let my kids shoot guns but I’m comfortable with them being around reptiles – I guess we’re all pretty individual in how we bring our children up.”

“My kids have been bitten by pythons and dragons but they’re always fine,” added Eric.

“Growing up I was bitten by snakes, dogs and lizards but my biggest accident was when I fell from a tree – anything can happen – kids will be kids.”

He says the children now know so much about snakes they can tell different kinds snakes apart and know to leave them alone or approach them. Eric also owned a 7ft 2ins crocodile monitor lizard called Jellybean, which was allowed to play with his children – unfortunately he died in the fire.
