It’s been revealed by an
arrested female suicide bomber, that over 8,000 Boko Haram insurgents
are plotting to lay siege on Maiduguri and release their colleagues in
prison. This was reportedly disclosed by one of the three female suicide bombers who attacked Damboa road in Maiduguri, on Saturday.
Isa Musa Sani, a member of the civilian JTF, revealed to Tribune that the female suicide bomber was arrested at a military checkpoint, three hours after the explosion. Sani purportedly said that the female bomber and some of her accomplices fled to hide in Dala Alemderi after the Damboa attack.
The civilian JTF member was quotedto have said: “Her own bombs
refused to detonate and she had to remove them from her body. She
realised she did not want to die again and was begging us not to kill
her.
“She said she was the lady who was with the other female bombers who attacked the military checkpoint this morning.
“She also revealed that they came all the way from Damasak, where
they are working along with some members of the Boko Haram fighters
numbering 8,000 who are planning on how to make inroads into Maiduguri
to free their men in military custody”.
“She said they wanted to scare the soldiers, so that some of their
fighters could have access to the town. She disclosed that their plan
was to free some of their members who are being held at the military
barracks.”
