J.T. turned 35 on Sunday, and you better believe pal Garth Brooks remembered his birthday! The country star paused his performance at Baltimore's Royal Farms Arena so that he and all 14,000 fans could sing happy birthday to Justin.
Garth, who was a surprise guest at one of Justin's concerts back in 2014, posted a video of the B-Day surprise to Facebook. "I got a buddy, and his birthday is today," Garth says in the clip.
"So, I hate this guy because he always looks like he's
18," he says jokingly. "I hate this guy because he's got more talent in
his pinky than [I do in] my whole body, I hate this guy because my
wife's in love with him, but I love this kid. He's a kid named Justin
Timberlake!"
Cue uproarious applause from the audience! "So here's
the deal," Garth goes on. "You're going to sing, 'Happy Birthday,
Justin...' Then I want everybody to film it and just flood his Twitter
with it." The fans obliged, and Justin had countless videos of
fans singing "Happy birthday" to him on social media. Garth's video
concludes with him turning the camera on himself, wishing Justin a happy
35th once again and exclaiming, "We love you, bro!"
The B-Day boy was humbled, clearly. He tweeted a link to Garth's video, writing, "Dude!!!! Stop it! This is THE COOLEST THING EVER! Thanks, Mr. Brooks and B-More!!!"
He also tweeted an "I love you!" at Ellen DeGeneres, who sweetly wished a happy birthday
to her "brilliant and adorable friend, @jtimberlake." And then, being a
proper gentleman with good Southern manners, Justin expressed his
gratitude for all the sweet messages. "Thank you EVERYONE for the bday wishes yesterday!" he tweeted. "Gonna be a fun year... Love you guys!"
