Organisers of The Headies
Awards have announced that the 2015 ceremony will not hold at the Eko
Hotel and Suites, in Victoria Island. The award, which has been held at the hotel for four years since
inception, will hold on Wednesday, December 30 at the Landmark Events
Centre.
The first ever Headies Awards was held at the Muson Centre in
2006-2007, while it was moved to Planet One events centre, in 2008. The organizers hosted the 2009 edition of the award at the Abuja International Conference Centre.
Eko Hotel and Suites was used for the next three years, after which Oriental Hotel was the venue in 2013.
The annual event, which recognizes outstanding work by Nigerian music talents, was brought back to Eko Hotel in 2014.
Speaking on the format of this year’s award nominations, Ayo Animashaun stated: “This year, only music released between July 2014 and June 2015 was eligible for nomination.”
