Manchester United captain, Wayne Rooney has reportedly been sidelined for two weeks due to a knee ligament injury. Rooney was dropped for United’s Europa league side to face Midtjylland on Thursday evening. And will be out for another eight weeks, till the end of March. The England international could play the full match against Sunderland, and it is believed he picked up the injury in training.
Despite largely being criticised for his performances this season as United have struggled for form, the skipper had hit a purple patch in recent weeks, scoring five times in his last eight league outings.
