Residents from Texas to Louisiana should be on alert for life-threatening flooding this weekend.
The system will unleash 4-8 inches of rain across portions of Texas,
Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana with the potential for some communities
to receive a foot or more of rain through Sunday. Moisture from
record-breaking Hurricane Patricia will contribute to the
life-threatening flooding that will inundate the South Central states
this weekend.
Overnight, the heaviest rain will fall from the Big Bend region of
Texas to southwest Arkansas, AccuWeather Meteorologist Mike Doll said.
Travel disruptions, flight delays and road closures are possible due to
the heavy rainfall expected.
"Dangerous travel conditions will exist on interstates 35 and 45
overnight and drivers should not attempt to go across a flooded
roadway," Doll said.
