Man arraigned for stealing lover’s money


Ikorodu(Lagos State) – A 32-year-old man, Wasiu Kareem was arraigned on Friday at Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos for stealing N120,000 belonging to his girlfriend. The accused, who resides at No 4, Olowolagba St., Ikorodu, is also standing trial for burgling the girlfriend’s apartment. The police prosecutor, Cpl. Mary Ajiteru told the court that the accused person committed the offence on Oct.19 at his girlfriend’s resident.

“ It was learnt that the duo had been dating for some time and the accused had been living in his lover’s apartment.

“They both had misunderstanding and the woman sent the accused parking.
“He came back to burgle his lovers’ apartment and stole N120, 000.
“The case was reported to the police and he was apprehended and arrested,’’ he said.

Ajiteru said the offence contravenes section 385(a) and 285 of the criminal Code Laws of Lagos State, 2011. The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him. The Magistrate, Mr O.O. Olatunji granted bail to the accused in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties who must also show evidence of tax payment and live within the Magisterial jurisdiction.

Olatunji adjourned the case till Nov.26, for hearing.(NAN)
