The police force headquarters has warned Indigenous
People of Biafra (IPOB) group to desist from carrying out protests
across South eastern states.
Earlier, hundreds of Biafran agitators have stormed the streets to demand the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the director of Radio Biafra even after the police had issued a warning to the Biafrans over their planned protest.
In a new statement issued by the force spokesperson, Olabisi
Kolawole, on Friday, November 6 in Abuja, the police said the law
prohibiting the unlawful possession of firearms was still in force.
“Information available to the Nigeria police indicates plans by
the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, to embark on ill-advised protest
using dangerous weapons across some South Eastern States,” she said.
