Chris Pine doesn't even blink when I ask if he'd want Wonder Woman or Capt. Kirk to have his back in a fight.
"Wonder Woman would win because she's radical," Pine says while promoting his new movie The Finest Hours with co-star Ben Foster. "And she looks better in a skirt."
Foster doesn't miss a beat and cracks, "I disagree."
As we all know Pine plays Capt. Kirk in Star Trek's most current reboot. In the upcoming Wonder Woman flick he plays the Amazonian superhero's love interest Steve Trevor.
Israeli actress Gal Gadot plays Wonder Woman (she'll make her first appearance in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.)
"Gal
Gadot...is beautiful, so talented, strong and the story is really one I
think that needs to be out there," Pine said. "The simple fact of the
matter is it's about a woman who's so strong with such physical ability
that she could kick such ass but really at the end of the day leads with
an incredible amount of compassion and love and hope for humanity and I
think we need a lot of that right now."
Wonder Woman for president, anyone?
Pine would not confirm or deny that Lynda Carter, who famously played Wonder Woman on television in the 1970s, will appear in the film.
He teased, "If I could tell you that I wouldn't, but I can't."
Directed by Patty Jenkins, the Wonder Woman cast also includes Robin Wright, Danny Huston, Harry Potter star David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya and Lucy Davis.
